If There Were Ten of Me…
In General by SkellieWhat would you do if there were ten of you? (Putting aside the social and existential awkwardness that might cause, of course.)
Once you’ve answered that question, something to think about:
What will you do because there is only one of you?

If there were ten of me I would send 2 of them to work and send the other 8 to enjoy life.
Because there is only one of me, I will make him work twice as hard…

“What will you do because there is only one of you?”
Write short posts like this one?
Just kidding, this is a good thing to think about. All the talk we hear about “if only I had more time” isn’t going to change anything. People need to say “Since I don’t have more time, and never will, what will I do?”
For me, it’s eliminating non-critical tasks, and avoiding perfectionism.

Get that novel written. Also I’d make one of them work a standard 40-hour a week job to bring in more income.
Because there’s only one, I’ll get that novel written a bit slower. I just really need to start.

If there were 10 of me, I would make 9 of them salesmen.
Because there is only one….well…I guess I need to hire 9 salesmen

Well I instantly drifted off dreaming of all the things I could do, then came crashing down as I remembered there is one of me. I just need to focus my efforts and use my day in a more productive manner.
I am getting there.

Skellie - are you sure that there aren’t TEN of you…? I now see that you are offering blog consulting as well. I think I smell productivity blog as your next niche
Also, a question, are the ten of me rich? That would make a huge difference…

If there were 10 Skellies then you’d collectively have a monopoly on the entire blogosphere and we’d all be screwed :-). Seriously, how would anyone compete with that?

Ok Skellie, you just didn’t ask what I would do if there were 10 of me, did you? Well here I go ranting …
Ritu 1: Would only handle the household responsibility
Ritu 2: Give as much time to his wife and kids as possible
Ritu 3: Would work at his day job without having to worry about anything else causer ” other” Ritus do the rest
Ritu 4: He would just digg and stumble and establish himself as a social media influencer
Ritu 5: Would write one indepth post each day on his blog
Ritu 6: Would be a full time freelancer since the other Ritu already works at his day job
Ritu 7: Would start his own business from the money made by other Ritus
Ritu 8: He would help out all new bloggers and become a great source of information and inspiration
Ritu 9: Would let Skellie know every day that he is available for more work and keep bugging her
Ritu 10: Would relax in the Bahamas
But, but……….there is only one of me. And I am proud that although I think at times I would need 10 of me to do all this, I am already doing it as one, just one Ritu.
Sorry for the overly committed comment and taking the post literally

Thanks guys — our regular content flow resumes here, but I just thought it was a nice thinking tool to share, emphasizing the importance of your choices.
@ Ritu: Hehe, Ritu 9 is my favorite ;).

@ Skellie : This is Ritu 9, I am available for work anytime

If there were 10 of me I would have 3 work on promoting my blog, one working on a new blog I’m starting, 2 work at my day job so that my income goes up, one writing that novel that I want to finish (thanks Mrs. Micah) one spend time with my wife, one playing Halo 3 on XBOX Live, and one doing service for my church.
Since there’s only one of me, I will split my time and do all of these things in balance.

If there were ten of me then at least one of me would be taking a nice long rest doing nothing while the other nine got to work!!!
